About

Andrew Chang is a national treasure — and I’m not even Canadian.

My name is Brandon. I live in Chicago. A couple of years ago, I started watching CBC as my primary news source. (Easier to disassociate watching from a distance.)

I quickly fell in love with About That with Andrew Chang. I love the way he explains things. The subtle sarcasm. The occasional straight-faced snark. The way he walks you through some of the most overwhelming and consequential news, making it feel like your smart friend catching you up over coffee. (Or matcha, in my case.)

I also love that this man is almost always wearing a hoodie. Episode after episode. Geopolitics in a hoodie. Existential climate dread in a hoodie. Trump bullshit in a hoodie. There is something delightful about a casual fit paired with the casual, every-person delivery of information that, on paper, should make you want to lie down.

And so: About That Hoodie on Andrew Chang.

The mission is simple: show some real respect for the work Andrew and the About That team do, and poke a little good-natured fun at the wardrobe along the way. The hoodie is the bit. The show is the point. Meanwhile it’s also become an easy way for me to find and share the latest episodes with friends. That’s pretty much it.

Andrew, if you’re ever in Chicago — matcha’s on me.
